What is a CDATA tag and why do I need it?

To ensure that no control characters interfere with the execution of the template language TAL, CSS and JavaScript source code must be masked by CDATA tags.

The tags are as follows.

1. CDATA CSS reads:

CDATA

2. CDATA JavaScript CDATA
