The Evalanche Email Designer will replace the visual editor for creating emailings within Evalanche. It has been redesigned and is characterized by improved usability and high flexibility. The new intuitive modular template system simplifies the creation of emailings considerably. This documentation refers to the latest PowerSet template 2, the new best practice template based on the new e-mail designer for creating e-mailings.
To create and edit e-mailings, you work as an editor in “Creator mode”. PowerSet 2 offers a variety of flexible, preconfigured modules based on proven best practices. The modules are designed to be versatile and configurable. The template can be customized in advance according to individual specifications and requirements.
With the user-friendly PowerSet 2, eMailings can be created easily, quickly and efficiently and efficient, without any prior knowledge of HTML or programming. The new e-mail designer uses a modular design system. The individual components (layouts, components and elements) can be freely combined with each other freely combinable. This ensures maximum flexibility within the existing modules is achieved. Thanks to the flexible customization options, the elements can be intuitively so that each campaign can be individually designed.

Note!
Some Powerset 2 resources are located on the domain scnem-content.com. If the new Powerset editor blocks content, please check whether your firewall or security software allows access to scnem-content.com.
The Email Designer is divided into two areas, the canvas and the sidebar.
- The e-mailing is located in the canvas.
- The modules, articles and all settings are located in the sidebar.
Modules are the configurable and usable content modules of the Editor that can be used in eMailing. The modules are placed on the canvas using drag & drop and then edited in terms of content and appearance. As soon as a module has been placed on the canvas, it is designated as a module instance and can be edited.

The preview for desktop, tablet and smartphone is at the top of the canvas
Dropareas, sub-dropareas and slots
The active areas in the canvas, in which modules can be placed using drag & drop can be placed are referred to as dropareas.
Some modules can contain their own dropareas, so-called sub-dropareas. These in turn allow the placement of further modules. Further nesting is not possible.
In order to be able to place entire articles using drag & drop, so-called article slots are are required. These article slots only allow the placement of articles.

Sidebar
The sidebar consists of three areas: Modules, Articles and Settings.
Modules: All modules that are available in PowerSet 2 can be found here. Modules can be dragged and dropped onto the canvas in available dropareas and create module instances (used modules). If a module is placed multiple times on the canvas, several independent module instances are created.

Articles: The articles last edited in the client are listed here. These can be dragged and dropped into the available article slots. Additional articles can be searched for via the search field and then used. To create an article slot, either the “Article (CMS)” or “Article (list)” component must first be positioned on the canvas using drag & drop. Several of these article components can also be used.

Settings: in the Settings tab, the basic settings can be defined such as width, colors and fonts can be defined, which can be accessed by the modules of the e-mailing.

The individualized salutation is no longer specified in the e-mail or template, but is defined in the language container.
Inserting content
The basic principle of E-Mail Designer is based on modules, which are subdivided into layout modules, elements and components. There are different ways to implement content in modules. These different approaches can be combined with each other and thus cover a variety of cases.
- You can implement an eMailing exclusively with individual elements (elements). You are largely free to position the elements as you wish, especially if you also use layout modules for positioning. Elements are simple modules that represent the individual components of an e-mailing (e.g. image, text, button, separator, etc.).
- Alternatively or as a supplement, you can also create your eMailing with the ready-made components. With just one drag-and-drop process you can, for example create the editorial effortlessly.
- You can also work with articles that can be integrated via the two components “Articles (CMS)” and “Articles (list)”. This means that articles that are available as independent objects in Evalanche, are used in the E-Mail Designer (see also Canvas (Drop Area) / Articles). General Information on articles in Evalanche can also be found at: Create and configure articles.
- The additional layout modules support the design of the e-mailing. For example, two- or three-column areas can be defined in order to position individual elements flexibly. Two- and three-column articles can also be integrated. A wide range of design options can be implemented.
Note!
Using articles in the Email Designer has both advantages and disadvantages.
Advantage: Only articles provide article statistics.
Disadvantage: The articles are currently not editable in the Email Designer. Changes to articles in Evalache are only applied after restarting the Email Designer, saving in another module, or manually refreshing.
Editing a module instance:
If a module instance, i.e. a module used in the canvas, is clicked, the view of the sidebar switches to the individual editing screen. The module instance can be copied, deleted or edited here. Depending on the module instance, different input elements (input widgets) are also available to edit the various contents.
Example of a module and its settings
Note!
The visibility of a module instance can optionally be restricted by assigning a specific target group. a specific target group. After sending, the module instance is then only displayed for the profiles of the selected target group.

In this module, all content such as text and images is entered in the corresponding input elements. input elements. Special input elements were used, for example, to the image alignment or the division ratio (image/text). A target group can be inserted under the Personalization tab for for which the content of the module is to be displayed exclusively.
The input widgets can vary depending on the module
Overview of the modules
Layouts
Layout modules define the arrangement of components and elements in the overall layout. They can be used to divide the layout into several columns and/or to use layout areas with different background colors. The contents of multi-column layout modules are displayed one below the other if there is insufficient space (e.g. in the mobile view).
